Download RTMP videos

Investigating how to download videos from TV LaSexta* I discovered that the videos are in a different protocol of HTTP always present and therefore normally not be downloaded with browser, download manager, etc.. That is the razon I directed my eyes to RTMP protocol and the tools needed to download videos in that protocol…not many, there is not much information, but I created something tangible about it.
* Translation note. La Sexta s a Spanish broadcast TV whose site is the most difficult to download videos.

In short: We can download videos from LaSexta, IB3, etc. easily.

La Sexta has returned to HTTP protocol, but does through Atresplayer, which gives many problems to downloading and besides you have to register to watch most contents.

Therefore having become a private club and a tax collection effort depending on kind of content you want to watch. I remove support for Atresplayer, which includes A3 and La Sexta.

RTMP protocol

RTMP (Real Time Menssaging Protocol) was initially a proprietary protocol developed by Macromedia for streaming audio, video and data over the Internet, between a Flash player and a server. Macromedia is now owned by Adobe, which has released the specificacion of the protocol for public use.

It's a TCP-based protocol which maintains persistent connections and allows low-latency communication To deliver streams smoothly and transmit as much information as possible, it splits streams into fragments and their size is negotiated dynamically between the client and server while sometimes it is kept unchanged: the default fragment sizes are 64-bytes for audio data, and 128 bytes for video data and most other data types. Fragments from different streams may then be interleaved, and multiplexed over a single connection.
